Eric J. Weiss, CFP®
Eric J. Weiss is a Certified Financial Planner PROFESSIONAL
and got the idea while teaching "Introduction to Finance" at the University of Miami. The course has been
tailored to the needs of high school students with no previous knowledge of personal finance.
Previously, Mr. Weiss was a senior executive
at Citicorp's corporate finance group in New York and Latin America. Mr. Weiss earned his M.B.A.
from the University of Chicago where he interned at the
Center for Research in Security Prices (Chicago, IL) under
the direction of Professor Myron Scholes, a Nobel
prize recipient for his work in option pricing. Prior
to his studies at Chicago, Mr. Weiss earned an M.A. in economics
from Columbia University where he wrote his thesis under
the direction of Robert Mundell, a Nobel prize recipient
for his work in international monetary economics.
Mr. Weiss holds a Series 65 investment advisor license, is
a member of The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), a 5-Star Paladin Registry Advisor
(one of the top 800 advisors nationally) and an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the University of Miami.
Mr. Weiss speaks to community groups on financial and investment issues. In his
spare time, he enjoys running, tennis, gardening and college football. He is married with one son who attends Palmetto High School.
